Medical Imaging Devices Has Changed the Way of Diagnosing Various Infectious and Non-Infectious Disease
Medical Imaging Devices |
Medical imaging is the process and method of making digital
visual images of the inside of a human body for medical diagnosis and treatment
and visual illustration of the functions of any tissues or organs (physics).
These pictures are produced by using specialized medical imaging devices such
as x-ray machines and magnetic resonance scanners. These medical imaging
devices can create a large number of graphic representations that are made
accessible to the surgeon or medical specialist who is examining the body.
There are many advantages of medical
imaging devices, and one of
them is their use in diagnosing certain medical conditions that were not
previously diagnosed. These images have also revolutionized the way that
operations are conducted, and more modern-day surgical techniques are based on
the knowledge and images produced by these devices.
One example of an imaging procedure is tomography.
Tomography, which was developed initially by German Researchers in the 1920s,
is one of the most commonly used radiology techniques. This procedure involves
the use of sound waves to produce a three-dimensional image of the internal
organs of a patient. This technology has largely replaced the more hazardous
and costly surgical procedures such as open-heart surgery.
Ultrasound imaging techniques are another form of modality.
This technique is useful in non-surgical treatments for various ailments
including acute and chronic heart diseases, tumors, and other maladies that do
not respond well to medications. CT scans and MRIs are also among the many
imaging modalities used today. CT images show the internal areas of a patient
and can be helpful in the diagnosis of certain diseases. These imaging
techniques have their own purposes, these medical imaging devices play a
significant role in the field of radiology. CT and MRI techniques have
revolutionized the way that physicians treat patients.
